Soccer Recap: Crystal River Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 2-2 at halftime, Crystal River was not quite Central's equal in the second half on Thursday. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Bears. The Pirates have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Gabriel Roldan and Tyler Penn scored both of Crystal River's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Crystal River's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Central, they moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crystal River will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Central, they will head out to square off against Weeki Wachee at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
