Softball Recap: DeKalb Comes Up Short

DeKalb lost against Homestead back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Barons fell 5-1 to the Spartans. The Barons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

DeKalb saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Storck, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Homestead, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeKalb will take on Fort Wayne Snider at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Homestead, they will face off against East Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.5, the Knights 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
