Basketball Game Preview: Raymondville Bearkats vs. Rio Hondo Bobcats

Raymondville and Rio Hondo are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Raymondville Bearkats will venture away from home to challenge the Rio Hondo Bobcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Friday, Raymondville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-41 to Lyford.

Meanwhile, Rio Hondo waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 65-47.

Rio Hondo now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Raymondville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Raymondville came up short against Rio Hondo when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 54-48. Can Raymondville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
