Softball Game Preview: Hermitage Panthers vs. Maggie Walker

The Hermitage Panthers will face off against Maggie Walker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hermitage duked it out with J.R. Tucker on Friday. The Panthers fell 13-10 to the Tigers. The Panthers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Maggie Walker entered their tilt with Meadowbrook on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 32-11 margin over the Monarchs. While Maggie Walker didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Maggie Walker got a massive performance out of Adria Mittal, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with eight stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Mittal also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season. Kylea New was another key player, going 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.

Maggie Walker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matchups.

Maggie Walker's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Hermitage, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Hermitage suffered a grim 18-9 defeat to Maggie Walker in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
