Softball Game Preview: Hendersonville Commandos vs. Overton Bobcats

The Hendersonville Commandos will head out to take on the Overton Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hendersonville 3.6, Overton 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Hendersonville fell victim to Green Hill and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 16-0 to the Hawks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Overton waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Lightning.

Kali Gray was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Hana Kajihara was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Delilah Christian was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Overton's record now sits at 15-4. As for Hendersonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-10-1.
