Basketball Game Preview: Thunderbird Titans vs. Greenway Demons

The Thunderbird Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Greenway Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-12, which was the final score in Thunderbird's tilt against Paradise Honors on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Greenway had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 52-22 win over the Rockets. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 30 points or more this season.

Greenway's win came from a few key players Thunderbird will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ramsie Hoil, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raven Gayden, who posted eight points along with eight assists and seven boards.

Greenway was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moon Valley only posted two assists.

Greenway is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Thunderbird, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

Thunderbird didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Greenway in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-40 victory.
