Basketball Recap: Bishop McGuinness Comes Up Short

Bishop McGuinness lost against Bishop Lynch back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish fell 61-52 to the Bishop Lynch Friars. That's two games in a row now that the Fighting Irish have lost by exactly nine points.

Loss or not, Bishop McGuinness got some senior leadership from Cooper Bradley and Hudson Mccormick. Bradley went 5 for 11 en route to 16 points along with five assists and three steals, while Mccormick went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. That's the most steals Bradley has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Timothy Ososanya, who posted eight points.

Bishop McGuinness has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Bishop Lynch, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-10.

Bishop McGuinness didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-27 win against Ada on the 21st. Bishop Lynch has also already played their next game (against John Paul II), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
