Soccer Game Preview: Trout Lake vs. Oregon Episcopal

The Trout Lake Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Oregon Episcopal Aardvarks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Trout Lake has given up an average of 4.7 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Trout Lake is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight matches on Thursday. They came up short against Valley Catholic, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, Trout Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 90th in Washington, while Valley Catholic are ranked 11th in Oregon).

Meanwhile, Oregon Episcopal hadn't done well against Catlin Gabel recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Aardvarks' defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 4-0 shutout. Considering Oregon Episcopal have won three matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Oregon Episcopal's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 3-4-1. As for Trout Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Trout Lake suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Oregon Episcopal when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
