The Sandy Creek Cougars can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 48-40 victory over Wilber-Clatonia. The victory was just what Sandy Creek needed coming off of a 47-26 loss in their prior contest.

Sandy Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryleigh Skalka led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Skalka has scored all season. Emma Fisher was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.

Sandy Creek's victory bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Wilber-Clatonia, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandy Creek will square off against the Panthers on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Fillmore Central is ranked 213th, while the Cougars are ranked 223rd).
