Volleyball Recap: Grand Valley Comes Up Short

Grand Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against the North Fork Miners, falling 3-0. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Miners from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20, 25-16.

Hayden Koley paced Grand Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Koley got some help from Taylor Pittman and her six assists. Finally, Kylene Mascioli kept Grand Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with 11 blocks.

Grand Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for North Fork, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Grand Valley will challenge Basalt at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Fork, after both having extra time off, they and South Park will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
