Basketball Game Preview: Paulding County Patriots vs. Hillgrove Hawks

The Paulding County Patriots will head out to square off against the Hillgrove Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Paulding County didn't have quite enough to beat South Cobb and fell 57-54. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hillgrove beat Harrison 64-60 on Tuesday. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Hoyas are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hillgrove's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-6. As for Paulding County, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Paulding County couldn't quite finish off Hillgrove when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 87-84. Can Paulding County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
