League recap: Locust Grove scores huge upset over Dutchtown

AAAA Region 4A recap October 8, 2013

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Locust Grove, who defeated 172nd ranked Dutchtown, 31-24. Emilo Conde ran for 115 yards and caught 1 pass for 11 yards in the win.

The Wildcats moved up to 242 from 272 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAA Region 4A. Locust Grove was able to move up by topping the Bulldogs 31-24.

Christopher Weiss was a key player and the best on defense this week as Eagle's Landing lost to Stockbridge. The 6-foot-2 senior grabbed 1 sack.

Bradley Dewberry threw for 201 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 23-36 with 0 interceptions.

Dewberry put up the best numbers in passing as the Eagles lost to the Tigers. Dewberry's favorite target this week was Warren Wright, who caught 9 passes for 101 yards.

Clint Satterfield's team's Tyler Sellers and Justin Drake led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Sellers has thrown for 1,281 yards this season, while Drake has 40 catches for 569 yards. Brandon Robertson from Dutchtown leads the league in rushing with 684 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Kevin Jones' team takes on Eagle's Landing. The Bulldogs are in fourth place, while Joe Teknipp's team is in third place.

There should be lots of points scored when Dutchtown and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 196 this season, while Eagle's Landing has scored 171. Dutchtown scored 24 points last week as it fell to the Wildcats.

Locust Grove made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,224 from 7,222. The improvement was the result of a 31-24 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
