Volleyball Recap: Lake Region Comes Up Short

Lake Region lost against Lake Gibson back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Thunder fell 2-0 to the Braves.

Lake Region's offense was headlined by Charlotte Williams and Kaydence McCarta, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Yatnielis Medina Gonzalez and her eight assists. McCarta was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lake Gibson found their leader in freshman Alaina Saunders, who had nine digs and two aces.

Lake Region's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Lake Gibson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lake Region and Lake Gibson will both be playing Davenport the next time they take the court. The Thunder will head out to face the Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Braves will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
