Basketball Game Preview: Cumberland Pirates vs. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights

The Cumberland Pirates will challenge the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cumberland is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Okaw Valley just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 51-34 fall against the Timberwolves.

Meanwhile, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond ended up a good deal behind Arcola on Tuesday and lost 63-49. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Purple Riders: they've now lost six in a row.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Cumberland, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 15-9.

Cumberland didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond in their previous meeting on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory.
