Harlan had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Stevens Falcons. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Falcons are ranked 605th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harlan hit Stevens with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Carlos Cantenera, Nick Gomez, and Trystan _.

Harlan's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Stevens, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Harlan will challenge Taft at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stevens, they will take on Brennan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brennan has three straight wins, Stevens has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.
