Basketball Game Preview: Marlette Red Raiders vs. Almont Raiders

The Marlette Red Raiders will challenge the Almont Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Marlette is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Marlette came up short against Ubly and fell 56-48.

Meanwhile, Almont suffered their closest loss since February 2, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Armada by a score of 50-48. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Tigers are ranked 201st).

Almont's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Marlette, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Marlette was taken down by Almont 61-28 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Marlette was down 44-14.
