Mauldin and Woodmont are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Mavericks will take on the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mauldin is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since October 15, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Greenville. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Woodmont faced Mountain View Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Stars by a score of 2-1. That makes it the first time this season the Wildcats have let down their home crowd.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Woodmont sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 20-25, 15-8.

Woodmont suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 29-5. As for Mauldin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Mauldin came up short against Woodmont in their previous matchup back in September, falling 3-1. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
