Baseball Game Preview: Patterson Tigers vs. Mountain House Mustangs

The Patterson Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Mountain House Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Patterson took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Mountain House.

Max Medina was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Guy Allard, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Nikolas Guerrero also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Patterson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mountain House, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6-1.
