Baseball Recap: Saint Ignatius College Prep Takes a Loss

Saint Ignatius College Prep suffered their biggest defeat since April 30, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against the Smyrna Bulldogs, falling 9-2. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Wolfpack's biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Saint Ignatius College Prep saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaiden Ponce, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Alec Gunderson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Saint Ignatius College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Smyrna, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-11.

Looking ahead, Saint Ignatius College Prep will face off against Varsity Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Smyrna, they will challenge Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
