Basketball Recap: Oskaloosa Comes Up Short on the Road Against Pleasant Ridge

Oskaloosa had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pleasant Ridge Rams on Friday. The Bears were probably out for revenge after losing 45-40 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Oskaloosa saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Richie Rockhold went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 25 points. Those 25 points gave Rockhold a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Subelka, who posted ten points.

Canon Duncan was a one-man wrecking crew for Pleasant Ridge as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Brady Mance was another key player, putting up 17 points and six rebounds.

Oskaloosa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 74-45 loss against Valley Falls on the 10th. As for Pleasant Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-38 win against McLouth on the 10th.
