Basketball Recap: Gulf Breeze Takes a Loss

Gulf Breeze was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Crestview Bulldogs, falling 60-24. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 151st).

Madison Loftin was Gulf Breeze's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Jayda Hollis held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.

Crestview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aundreea Penn led the charge by putting up ten points. Those ten points gave Penn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Wolf, who posted seven points.

Gulf Breeze's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Crestview, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

Gulf Breeze didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-19 defeat against South Walton on the 6th. As for Crestview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 31-23 win against Navarre on the 6th.
