Recap: Tuloso-Midway Warriors/Cherokees vs. Calallen Wildcats

The Tuloso-Midway Warriors/Cherokees fell victim to the Calallen Wildcats''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a 17-0 bruising from the Wildcats. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Tuloso-Midway couldn't answer the 17 points Calallen scored afterwards.

Despite the loss, Tuloso-Midway saw an underclassman step up: Damian Figueroa rushed for 128 yards on only 11 carries. Figueroa is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.

Among those leading the charge was Jude Hernandez, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Hernandez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Calallen also got a significant boost from Luke Medina, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Tuloso-Midway and nudges their season record down to 6-2. As for Calallen, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Hidalgo the next time they take the field. Tuloso-Midway will host Hidalgo at 0:00 a.m. on Friday, while Calallen will head out to face them at 0:00 a.m. on November 3rd.
