Basketball Game Preview: Johnson Jaguars vs. East Central Hornets

The Johnson Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the East Central Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnson is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Johnson came up short against Clemens and fell 64-51. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 125th).

Meanwhile, East Central strolled past Canyon with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 74-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

East Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Johnson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Johnson lost to East Central on the road by a decisive 65-51 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Johnson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
