Baseball Recap: Millard South Takes Down Ranked Elkhorn South

Millard South faced Elkhorn South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Patriots never let the Storm get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 14 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Noah Haakinson, who gave up just four hits to keep Elkhorn South off the board. Haakinson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braden Swaney was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Derr, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Millard South and bumps their season record up to 21-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Elkhorn South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.

As of now, neither Millard South nor the Storm have any future games scheduled.
