Basketball Game Preview: Jonesboro Eagles vs. Abbott Panthers

The Jonesboro Eagles and the Abbott Panthers will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jonesboro is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mumford just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Abbott). They claimed a resounding 70-35 win over Gustine. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Abbott's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Jonesboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Jonesboro took their victory against Abbott in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 70-45 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
