Football Recap: Pickens County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Pickens County extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They took a 28-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berry Wildcats. The Tornadoes lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-20 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Pickens County lost, don't look at Mj Billups. Despite the final result, he threw for 213 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 76 yards and one score. 85 of Billups' passing yards were hauled in by Kristofer Witherspoon, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

As for Berry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 18 points in those games.

Ayden Lake Norris was his usual excellent self, rushing for 143 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 39 receiving yards and one score. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up three sacks, forcing one fumble, and making ten total tackles.

Pickens County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-12 loss against Marion County on the 24th. As for Berry, they have also already played their next contest, a 47-8 win against Brilliant on the 24th.
