Basketball Recap: Purdue Polytechnic Takes a Loss

The Purdue Polytechnic Techies came up short against the Perry Meridian Falcons on Saturday and fell 75-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (57), the Techies still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Purdue Polytechnic lost, don't look at TJ Williams. Despite the final result, he went 10-for-17 to rack up 29 points. Williams' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points. Mason Johnson was another key player, shooting 56% from the field on his way to 11 points.

Perry Meridian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ezra Ceaser, who went 8-for-9 en route to 17 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave Ceaser a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Porter, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 14 points and six assists.

Purdue Polytechnic dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Perry Meridian, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Purdue Polytechnic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 78-76 win against KIPP Legacy on the 5th. As for Perry Meridian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-54 defeat against Beech Grove on the 2nd.
