After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Parkway North, Hazelwood West was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Ritenour Huskies. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

The victory didn't come easy: Ritenour scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 24-26, 25-21, 25-20.

Hazelwood West's offense was headlined by Caden Blake and Marquis Woolfolk, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Armond Dobbins and his 32 assists. Woolfolk was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Hazelwood West's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-14-2. As for Ritenour, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13-1 record this season.

Hazelwood West has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Fox on the 2nd. As for Ritenour, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Clayton on the 1st.
