Softball Game Preview: Ann Sobrato Bulldogs vs. Aptos Mariners

The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs will face off against the Aptos Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ann Sobrato comes in on three and Aptos on four.

Ann Sobrato is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Prospect get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 8th.

Ann Sobrato's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Bouton, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Ann Sobrato hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 8-3 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Aptos came out on top against Alisal on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Mariners blew past the Trojans 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Aptos' victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Ann Sobrato, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Ann Sobrato skirted past Aptos 9-7 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mariners turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
