Softball Recap: Green Bay Preble Falls Short of Kaukauna in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Green Bay Preble couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Galloping Ghosts recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Katie Geydoshek spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Green Bay Preble saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah VonHaden, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Green Bay Preble fell to 28-1. As for Kaukauna, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 23-0.

As of now, neither Green Bay Preble nor the Galloping Ghosts have any future games scheduled.
