West Laurens takes loss despite strong efforts from Trantavious S and Marcus Nash

Recap: West Laurens Raiders vs. Baldwin Braves

The West Laurens Raiders suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Baldwin at home and fell 88-54. West Laurens has struggled against Baldwin recently, as their match on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Marcus Nash and Trantavious S certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Nash scored ten points, while S scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nash has scored all season.

Leading Baldwin to victory were Karez Demory and Isaiah Dennis. Demory scored 12 points along with four steals, while Dennis scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Deven Nelson, who scored 12 points.

West Laurens' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Baldwin, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Laurens will square off against Howard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Baldwin on the road again on Friday and play against Perry at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Baldwin is ranked 29th).
