Baseball Preview: Westlake Wildcats vs. Hendrick Hudson Sailors        
        
		
            The Westlake Wildcats will head out to  challenge the Hendrick Hudson Sailors  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Westlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1  runs per game  this season.
Westlake will roll into the  matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any  runs  on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Lakeland  on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Hornets  a   13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four games by ten  runs or more  so far this season.
 Mikey Sica was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI and one  triple. That  triple was  his first of the season.

 In other batting news,  Kieran Murray and  Marcus Jackette did most of the damage at the plate:  Murray  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI, while  Jackette  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run. Westlake is undefeated when  Jackette posts three or  more  RBI, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Frank Vessa, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 Westlake  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
 Meanwhile, Hendrick Hudson narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Pleasantville  8-7. The Sailors haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
 The  win  got Westlake back to even at 4-4. As for Hendrick Hudson, their record is now 4-11.
 Everything went Westlake's way against Hendrick Hudson in their previous matchup  back in April, as Westlake made off with  an  11-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
