Softball Game Preview: San Gabriel Matadors vs. Marshall Eagles

The San Gabriel Matadors are taking a road trip to challenge the Marshall Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

San Gabriel is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Covina on Saturday. They came up short against the Colts, falling 31-1.

Meanwhile, Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-9 to Santa Clarita Christian. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 17 runs.

San Gabriel has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
