Recap: Penns Grove Red Devils vs. Salem Rams
The Penns Grove Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Salem 96-52. Penns Grove has not had much luck with Salem recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Penns Grove lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mekhi Ballard, who scored 12 points. Willie Slocum was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Penns Grove has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Salem, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penns Grove will take on Woodstown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodstown is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Salem, they will be playing at home against Salem County Vo-Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem County Vo-Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Salem is ranked 176th).
