Basketball Recap: Dillon Extends Winning Streak to Two

Dillon won the last time they faced Aynor, and Khwnylahi Mckinnon did her part to make sure it happened again. The Dillon Wildcats walked away with a 48-35 win over the Aynor Blue Jackets on Tuesday thanks in part to Mckinnon, who went 8 for 20 on her way to 19 points and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ayonna Lester, who posted six points and six steals. What's more, she also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Aynor lost, don't look at Terianna Richardson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. That was a full 45.7% of Aynor's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Elisha Huffman was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Dillon and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for Aynor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Dillon has already played their next matchup, a 60-14 win against Lake View on the 15th. As for Aynor, they will host Waccamaw at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
