Sparta and Coopersville are an even 4-4 against one another  since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Spartans will host the Broncos  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
Coopersville will  square off against  a team with plenty of momentum: Sparta extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Spartans came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   19-18 W against Greenville. With that  win, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.5  runs per game.

 Taliya Dauser was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  five innings while giving up  four earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  double. Those  two  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Sparta got a  massive  performance out of  Alexa VanVliet, who  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base. Those  three  RBI gave  VanVliet a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Lily Dauser, who  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.
 Sparta was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive  matches.
 Meanwhile, Coopersville entered their  game against Allendale  on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Broncos fell just short of the Falcons by a score of  18-17. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  on Tuesday (16), the Broncos still had to take the loss.
 Sparta's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Coopersville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
