Recap: Wabash Apaches vs. Eastside Blazers

If The Wabash Apaches were feeling good off their 35-0 takedown of the Whitko Wildcats last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wabash was dealt a 48-7 loss at the hands of Eastside on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, Wabash couldn't push the score so high this time.

Izaak Wright threw for 172 yards and a touchdown. Jesse Hackworth was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Keaton Fields picked up 13 receiving yards and no touchdowns.

Linkin Carter was a one-man wrecking crew for Eastside as he rushed for 130 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Eastside also got a significant boost from Wyatt Davis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 105 yards.

Wabash's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Eastside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Wabash does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eastside will head out on the road to face off against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is on a three-game streak of home wins, Eastside a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
