Torrington is a perfect 10-0 against Newcastle since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trailblazers will challenge the Dogies at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Torrington has four straight wins, Newcastle has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Torrington who was credited with the victory on Friday. The Trailblazers got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Rawlins' two.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Newcastle and Gering meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Dogies took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Newcastle came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked sixth in Wyoming, while Gering are ranked 64th in Nebraska).

Newcastle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Torrington, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything went Torrington's way against Newcastle in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Torrington made off with an 8-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trailblazers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
