Basketball Game Preview: Pius X Thunderbolts vs. Blue Springs Wildcats

The Pius X Thunderbolts and the Blue Springs Wildcats will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.

Pius X is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost to Blue Springs South on the road by a 65-48 margin on Thursday.

Pius X's loss came about despite a quality game from Zach Taubenheim, who posted 16 points and six boards. Sawyer Sand was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Blue Springs earned a 73-66 victory over Lincoln High on Thursday.

Pius X came up short against Blue Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 69-59. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
