GIAA 8-Man Region 1 (8 Man) Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Levi Murphey Goes Supernova in Westminster Schools of Augusta Victory

Westminster Schools of Augusta picked up their 13th consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Levi Murphey. Murphey did his part (and then some), throwing for 301 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 60 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries for the 'W'. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season.

Murphey must have Westminster Christian Academy's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Murphey saw the Lions), he threw for 332 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Another Game with at Least 110 Receiving Yards from Levi Ketterman

Levi Ketterman was instrumental in extending Westminster Schools of Augusta's winning streak to 13 on Friday. Ketterman's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 110 receiving yards dating back to last season. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 73 yards.

On the season, Ketterman has averaged 7 total tackles per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 1.4 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 11.6 rushing yards.

Gamescore: 26.08

Covenant Academy was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Seth Daugherty did his best to prevent it. Holy Spirit Prep had no answer to Daugherty as he picked up 69 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Covenant Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. Daugherty will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Harvester Christian Academy on Friday.
