Basketball Recap: Whiting Takes a Loss

Whiting was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 73-56 bruising from the Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles. Even if the Oilers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Whiting's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Lake Station Edison, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whiting will challenge Lighthouse College Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whiting is facing Lighthouse College Prep Academy at the right time seeing as Lighthouse College Prep Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Lake Station Edison, they will take on Westville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
