Softball Game Preview: Upper St. Clair Panthers vs. West Allegheny Indians

The Upper St. Clair Panthers will face off against the West Allegheny Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Upper St. Clair will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Upper St. Clair gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Montour 7-6.

Brooklyn Kemp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Kemp wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caroline Barnard, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Barnard also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Rachel Scharrer was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Upper St. Clair hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, West Allegheny was able to grind out a solid win over Moon Area on Monday, taking the game 6-2. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

West Allegheny now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Upper St. Clair, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
