Basketball Game Preview: Locust Fork Hornets vs. Douglas Eagles

The Locust Fork Hornets will face off against the Douglas Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Locust Fork knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 matchups -- so hopefully Douglas likes a good challenge.

Locust Fork is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since January 30, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Mortimer Jordan by a score of 82-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (74), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Douglas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-32 win over Crossville on Friday.

Locust Fork's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Douglas, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Locust Fork took their victory against Douglas in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 70-47. Does Locust Fork have another victory up their sleeve, or will Douglas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
