Volleyball Recap: Johansen Falls to Weston Ranch in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Johansen unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Weston Ranch Cougars on Monday. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

While Johansen was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Weston Ranch's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10, 25-12.

Weston Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lila Harper, who had seven kills, three digs, and two blocks. Harper is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.

Johansen has already played their next match (against Riverbank), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Weston Ranch, they will square off against Bear Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
