Baseball Recap: Northeast Takes a Loss

After flying high against St. Paul last Friday, Northeast came back down to earth. Northeast came up short against Central Heights on Thursday, falling 12-2. Northeast was red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but Central Heights' pitchers proved too tough.

Jayden Wetzel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tayven Willard, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Central Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Central Heights beat Northeast by a score of 9-5 later that day.
