Recap: Bruce Trojans vs. Vardaman Rams
The Bruce Trojans can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Vardaman with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. The win was just what Bruce needed coming off of a 80-29 loss in their prior matchup.
Bruce's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laken Corbitt, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Corbitt has scored at least 25% of Bruce's points. A'toria Knox was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Bruce's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Vardaman, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Bruce will head out on the road to face off against Calhoun City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun City will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Vardaman, they will be playing at home against Eupora at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
