One week remains in the high school football season, and for now, Washington remains No. 1 in the Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.
The Tornadoes captured a Class 4A state title last week and were keeping an eye on games in Texas and California this week.
No. 2 Allen survived a major scare from DeSoto in a Texas classic. Thanks to a late touchdown from Kyler Murray,
Allen came from behind to win 42-35.
In California, De La Salle and St. John Bosco both won, meaning the nation's No. 3 and 4 teams will square off this weekend at the StubHub Center.
Central, whose only loss this season is to No. 1 Washington, rises to No. 5 after a dominant performance against Armwood in the Florida Class 6A title game.

4. (5) De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), 14-0For the second-straight year, the Spartans ended Folsom's season, dominating in a 45-17 victory.
5. (7) Central (Miami), 14-1In one of the more impressive victories in the season, Central flat-out dominated Armwood, 52-7.

21. (NR) American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.), 14-1American Heritage looked superb in a 66-8 win over Clay. Its only loss was to Central.
22. (NR) East Jefferson (Metairie, La.), 15-0East Jefferson proved it was for real by closing out its season with wins over Neville and Edna Karr.
23. (NR) Norcross (Ga.), 13-2The state's preseason No. 1 team avenged an early-season loss to North Gwinnett by beating them in the AAAAAA title game.
24. (NR) Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, Ariz.), 14-0Salpointe overwhelmed competition all season long, culminating in a state title for Dennis Bene's squad.
25. (NR) Aledo (Texas), 14-0After a slow start,
the all-time greatest offense (statistically) got rolling, as Aledo beat Ennis 29-6.
