Softball Game Preview: South Allegheny Gladiators vs. Springdale Dynamos

The South Allegheny Gladiators will take on the Springdale Dynamos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Allegheny has six straight wins, Springdale has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

South Allegheny's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Northgate with a sharp 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Gladiators, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

South Allegheny got a massive performance out of Sydney Gordon, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Jackson, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Brentwood hit Springdale with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dynamos came up short against the Spartans, falling 10-3.

South Allegheny pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Springdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went South Allegheny's way against Springdale in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as South Allegheny made off with a 21-1 win. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Dynamos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
