Softball Recap: Springville's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Springville barely beat North Sanpete the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Devils blew past the Hawks 10-2 on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won four contests in a row.

Brooklynn Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allyx Haveron, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaz Ciliezar, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Springville's record is now 12-5. As for North Sanpete, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.

Looking ahead, Springville will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyridge at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Sanpete, they will head out on the road to square off against Emery at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
