Dolores Huerta Prep came into Friday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Manzanola Bobcats by a score of 56-43 on Friday. The Scorpions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Manzanola saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dillon Pittman posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danner Carroll, who put up six points.

Dolores Huerta Prep's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Manzanola, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Dolores Huerta Prep and Fowler will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manzanola, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-19 loss against Granada on the 14th.
